A perfect location to explore… and rest awhile, if you’re driving the North Coast 500 miles.
Walking is splendid at any time of year, take a walk to the ruins of Old Wick Castle or Castle Sinclair Girnigoe at Noss Head.
Visit Dunnet Head and see the giant sea stacks at Duncansby Head, a bird watcher’s paradise. Caithness has 25 harbours and
8 lighthouses on its rugged coastline. In the summer months, visit the Castle and Gardens at Mey, the holiday home of our late
Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, on the drive out from the Castle, look out for seals at Harrow harbour.
The spectacular beach at Dunnet Bay is formed in a great crescent from Castlehill to Dunnet. Early breakfast can be arranged
for Guests taking the ferries to the Orkney Islands, from Scrabster (20 minutes) or Gills Bay (35 minutes).
We are fortunate to source fresh and tasty produce from our neighbours’ farms, beneath the big Caithness skies, as well as locally

Our Guest accommodation is licensed to serve alcohol to guests while staying for Bed and Breakfast. You are welcome to
choose a flight of whisky from a selection of Single Malts, including our locals from Old Pulteney and Wolfburn, order at breakfast
and they will be placed in your guest room for you to enjoy on your return of the day’s activities.
There are many Scottish Gins in-house too, which can be served with the recommended garnish by each distiller.
